So, you found The Wildflower Joy! What is it? Who am I? And What do I do?

The Wildflower Joy by definition is an unexpected, overwhelming delight that seems to spring up from nowhere but, be exactly what you never knew you needed. It’s that smile that comes across your face when you spy that daisy growing out of the sidewalk. It’s that twinkle in your eye at the sight your grandma’s dainty little coffee cup in the back of cabinet. It’s that reassurance in soul when you see a Bible verse that you needed. It’s that happy tear that escapes as you see the book your daddy read to you at 5 years old. That is the Wildflower Joy! All of that and so much more.

My name is Jessi and I love just about anything old, antique, or vintage. I grew up on yard sales, auctions, and pawn shops. If there was a deal to found we were all about it. So, I naturally gravitated to old things. To me these things had staying power. A solidarity that new disposable, plasticky, throw away product could never have. I drove a 1971 Chevy pick-up in high-school and was thrilled when it cranked over on the first try. I listened to cassette tapes of Bob Seger and The Judds. The pull to things that remain unchanged by time, has only increased as I grew into adulthood. I am much more comfortable sitting with a 75-year-old lady discussing her depression glass than sharing my life on social media. I dream of milk glass, vintage books, and old trucks. I love finding these treasurers where ever they pop-up.

I have inherited and acquired these treasures for years. They fill my cabinets and hang on my walls. I have let a few things bring joy to others but, now I am ready to be that link between those vintage prizes and you. I am out and about at yard sales, charity shops, and online looking for the most fabulous finds and I am going to bring them to you in my Etsy Shop, The Wildflower Joy. You can keep up with me by following The Wildflower Joy on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Also be sure to subscribe to get the latest blog posts and news from www.thewildflowerjoy.com.

I want to leave you with my favorite passages of scripture and it just happens to mention wildflowers.

Matthew 6 (Amplified) 25 Therefore I tell you, stop being worried or anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted) about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, as to what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 And who of you by worrying can add one [a]hour to [the length of] his life? 28 And why are you worried about clothes? See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin [wool to make clothing], 29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is [cut and] thrown [as fuel] into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! 31 Therefore do not worry or be anxious (perpetually uneasy, distracted), saying, ‘What are we going to eat?’ or ‘What are we going to drink?’ or ‘What are we going to wear?’ 32 For the [pagan] Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; [but do not worry,] for your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
